BMW K1100 LT
Zombie by Kevils Speed Shop
For a long time now lots of people have said “Kevils why don’t you do a K series bmw?”
Having bowed down to popular demand we went and did it! The large heavy cumbersome ultimate dispatchers tool, otherwise fondly known as the flying brick!
Built for display, this bike looks like nothing on earth in the flesh, and will be for sale for someone who likes something a bit different!
The model we chose was an early nineties version 4valve per cylinder 1100cc with abs (which we pulled off and disposed of) anything to lighten the load of this heavy weight!
This model was chosen because of it’s futuristic three spoke wheels with single sided swing arm, brembo callipers with floating discs. The inspiration came from ‘Mad Max Thunder Road’ plus the other Mad Max movies we grew up watching, which culminated in an apocalypse themed build!
We decided the rear of the frame had to go as the angles are strange and don’t tie up with the tanks shape or anything else for that matter so we cut it off and had a new subframe fabricated and welded into place, we also used a R100gs rear shock to lift the rear end.
Being such a ugly beast we decided to use this to its advantage by adding more fabricated bodywork sections , fake rivets, and double projector headlights! A set of Akraprovik cans were also liberated from a RnineT for a real futuristic look!
Very much a cosmetic revamp rather than a nut and bolt rebuild, with fully serviced brake pads fluid and lines, this bike shows that Kevils Speed Shop can turn their hands to just about anything!
It will be sold as a trade sale. The Bike has covered 84,000 Miles and always been regularly maintained by it’s previous owners, however during the build it did not undergo full mechanical reconditioning .
